内容简介：
目前，国内学生在写作的逻辑思维和条理性方面表现较差, 缺乏较强的分析、综合、判断、推理、思考和辨析能力，显现出令人担忧的“思辨缺席症”。针对这一现状，我们编写了这本思辨性写作教材。该教材将“问题化”（problimatization）策略、综合性分析能力、批判性思维能力、个人视角或观点的表达等作为写作的重点，通过写作活动，掌握英语论辩写作的思维方式、语篇组织模式或体裁知识，树立读者意识。另外，目前，国内大部分教材所涉及的论说文主要为“对某事发表看法或意见，以期说服对方”的一般性议论文，该教材则以学术性或研究性论说文（academic or research-based argumentation）的写作为主要内容，通过对不同热点及有争议性问题的阅读，设计写作任务，引导学生进行资料写作（source-based writing）。
